Naked (The Blackstone Affair #1) by Raine Miller

4 1/2 Quivering Stars!! I'm in love with Ethan Blackstone!! I can see the comparisons coming already, but I don't care, I LOVED this book!! I reiterate, you can't help that books are going to have similar underlying themes, but how the story plays out, the way characters are portrayed and the skill of the author's writing, is what differentiates them and sets them apart. This one shoots straight to the top!!

"That picture changed everything. I was not the same after I saw it and I couldn’t go back to the man I’d been before seeing it either. Not after we met that night on the street. My whole world altered because of a photograph. A photograph of my beautiful American girl."

I was in it from the beginning and I had a hard time letting go. The story is told from Brynne’s first person point-of-view, although the prologue is from Ethan’s.

Ethan is charming, amusing, gritty and mouth-wateringly sexy, sensual, and oh so HOT! Brynne is a smart, feisty, independent woman, and is quick to fall for Ethan, but resisting him is futile. What brings him to her is pure fascination, but what makes him want her, is overwhelming desire! Brynne is equally attracted to this magnetic, charismatic man and their passion for each other ignites quickly, had me squirming in my seat, and misting away!! Underneath it all are secrets that have yet to be revealed and that is what drives the story. Brynne is a woman who does not take kindly to deception and Ethan might have just well met his Waterloo! Read the book and you will understand the meaning of that statement!

The writing was excellent, with dialogue a-plenty; some witty British humor and slang…loved that! The Brits just have a way with words. I detracted half a star due to the length, and the cliffhanger, which I’m not a fan of, but I can see how in this type of read it would be necessary. However, the author treats us to the first chapter of book two…told from Ethan’s point-of-view...which I think makes it more intriguing, and all kinds of deliciousness for the reader. I’m going to love being in Ethan’s head…no pun intended! Okay…well…maybe! Write faster Raine Miller!!

If any man could ever depict Ethan Blackstone, it’s this man…and he’s British too…PERFECT!! I know Gandy’s your man Wendy, but I couldn’t help myself!! Forgive me!

”Those eyes of his were blue, very clear and deep, black hair, tall bloke, his lip turning up more on one side than the other of his goateed mouth”

Sweet, Sexy, Scorching Giveaway Hop: Lucy Felthouse

Lucy Felthouse

An Xcite Books collection of five erotic stories with mixed cougar and jackals themes.

Road Trip

Emma’s never had such good sex as when, in her university days, she found herself being banged, up against the wall in a grotty flat with an unknowing fellow student just a few feet away. Now that she’s older, wiser and worried about creasing her business suit, can a younger man persuade her to risk everything for a quickie in a public place?

In Search Of Bookcases

Sophia works in an upmarket London department store. Enter Declan, a hot older man – he’s sexy, available and loaded, but down to earth too. As she helps him to furnish his luxury home, his purchasing frenzy is littered with flirting and double entendres, so when Declan leaves, Sophia’s left feeling more than a little flustered. But when she realises he’s left something behind, Sophia does the decent thing and returns it to him, with some seriously sexy results.

Motion of the Ocean

Seduction isn’t part of the plan for newly-divorced Suzanne when she accepts an invitation for a relaxing weekend at the ocean – then she meets Mark, the 22-year-old son of a close friend. His hard young body proves to be too great a temptation and, using the pretext of a moonlight swim, she shows him a few of the tricks that only a more experienced older woman can offer.

The Gaze

Dale is an old cuss who works construction. At nearly 50 years old, this grizzled man is surprised to engage the attention of a 19-year-old boy, who gazes at him from the bus stop day after day. After nearly three weeks of scrutiny, it’s Dale who finds the confidence to finally make the first move.

I’ve Got My Eyes On You

Who is the young man who repeatedly appears in the same places as Eleanor? As a woman in her late forties, she should be flattered. But is he just an admirer or could he be a stalker? Eleanor determines to find out. Her efforts lead her down the road to some unexpected revelations, not least concerning her own sexuality.

Cougars and Jackals

Lust bridges the age gap as predatory cougars, cute sex kittens and hot silver foxes come together in this collection of erotic stories.
Adults young and old explore – or perhaps rediscover – the pleasures of sex. A raven-haired guitar goddess gives her rock protegé a backstage initiation, while a handsome waiter finds himself serving more than food and wine to a quartet of dominant older women. There’s vintage champagne and more flowing in the penthouse suite as a rich businessman shares the wealth of his experience with a trashy but bubbly younger beauty, and when a widow shelters a young fugitive, her dormant arousal is rekindled.

About the Author
I graduated from the University of Derby in June 2006. My final year dissertation was on erotic literature; and how women’s roles in the genre have increased as social attitudes change.
I have written seriously since secondary school, but it wasn’t until the second year of my A Levels that I decided to go to University and study Creative Writing. It was in my first year at University of Derby that one of my friends persuaded me to have a go at writing erotic literature. So I wrote Sam & Katie which was based on my friend’s fantasy of having sex with his high school teacher. I took the completed piece into University and it went down incredibly well with all my friends that read it. I’ve never looked back.
I’ve written for various magazines and websites, and you can find a list of books I’ve appeared in on my Published Works page.
My hobbies and interests include; reading and writing, watching films, checking out other writers’ websites and blogs, spending time with friends and family; walking and camping. My greatest non-writing achievements to date are:
  • In May 2007 I did an eight-mile walk around Carsington Water in Derbyshire in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, I raised over £120.
  • Climbing Snowdon in June 2008. I raised £457 for the British Heart Foundation. The total amount raised by myself and my colleagues was just over £8,000!
  • In September 2009, I completed a Ladies’ Driving Challenge organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care. I raised £290.
  • In July 2010, I took part in the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK. I raised £332.
  • An anthology I edited, Uniform Behaviour, donates a portion of the proceeds to Help for Heroes.

Sweet, Sexy, Scorching Giveaway Hop: Crystal Jordon

Crystal Jordon

Book Summary for If you Believe

There’s only one man she needs to believe in. Him.

When it comes to her love life, the name of Aubrey Mathison’s coffee shop says it all: “Bean There, Done That”. There’s only one harmless man in her life right now—the homeless one parked outside the shop. Except the crazy things he says keep coming true.

She has to laugh at “You’ll meet your soul mate today”, though. Divorce taught her that men as gorgeous as sexy police chief Price Delacroix are not to be trusted. She’s totally up for a one-night stand, but more than that? No, thanks.

Price bears his own scars from the past, but he knows instantly that Aubrey is his. How to convince her he wants more than to be her personal jungle gym? Cut her off. That means no more mattress gymnastics—until she starts seeing things his way.

Aubrey is just as determined Price’s campaign to wear down her resistance is going to fail, no matter how wickedly determined he is. Until her resident prophet spouts a new prediction: her soul mate’s life is in danger…

Book Summary for Believe in Me

Love might need a little push…or a good, swift kick.

Tori Chambers. Old biddy, gossip, busybody and meddler. Except in reality she’s none of those things—she’s a guardian angel who specializes in helping people find their soul mates. Her latest assignment has had her tearing her hair out for over a year. She’s holding up her end for the fireman who’s her current client, but his soul mate’s guardian angel is dropping the ball big time. And when a replacement steps in, it’s enough to curl what’s left of Tori’s hair.

Jericho. The one man who broke her heart—and made her determined to never fail her clients like her own guardian angel failed her.

A hundred years ago, while fighting for Texas independence, Jericho made a mistake that accidentally cost her life. Now that she’s forced to make nice and work with him, he’s determined not to lose her again. Even if he has to tie her to the bed and make love to her until she’s willing to see reason.

Because unknown to Tori, she is his assignment. And if he can’t find a way to convince her they’re soul mates, they face an eternity of consequences…

Book Summary for Make Me Believe

She has two words for love. “Make me.” Then love changes the rules…

As far as hairstylist Celia Occam is concerned, she’s struck out at marriage twice, and there will be no “third time’s a charm”. So what if one salon employee and the town gossip seem dead set on fixing her up with Prince Charming. She’s nobody’s princess.

She’s all for scratching the occasional itch with the right man, but flirtatious firefighter Mason Delacroix is all wrong. Besides, with three broken engagements on his romantic rap sheet, even a one-night mattress mambo sounds like a bad idea.

From the first moment Mason encounters Celia’s emotional barriers, he’s determined to turn up the heat as high as it takes to melt the ice. If the whole town wants to back him up by playing Cupid, he’s on board. Track record be damned. He wants Celia, and he’s ready for permanent.

When her self-appointed guardian angels conspire to lock them in the basement, their long-denied chemistry explodes. She finds herself relishing every moment—though her subconscious is already on the run.

Funny thing, though. Every time she zigs, Mason’s already zagged. Making her wonder if this time it’s for real, or if Cupid is just up to its old tricks.

Book Summary for Unbelievable

If You Believe When a homeless man predicts she’ll meet her soul mate today, Aubrey only laughs and points to the name of her coffee shop: “Bean There, Done That.”

She’s sure sexy police chief Price Delacroix’s campaign to wear down her resistance is doomed to fail. Until her resident prophet spouts a new prediction: her soul mate’s life is in danger.

Believe in Me Guardian angel Tori is holding up her end for her current client, but his soul mate’s angel is failing big time. Then a replacement steps in: Jericho, the man who broke her heart—and made her determined to never repeat her own guardian angel’s failures.

Jericho’s not about to let Tori slip away again. But if he can’t convince her they’re destined to be together, they face an eternity of consequences…

Make Me Believe Celia’s convinced there’ll be no “third time’s a charm” in the marriage department. She’ll scratch the occasional itch with the right man, but flirtatious firefighter Mason Delacroix is all wrong.

Mason wants Celia, and he’s ready for something permanent. When her self-appointed guardian angels lock them in the basement, the ice starts to melt—and their long-denied chemistry explodes.

Jami Davenport

Forward Passes

Seattle Lumberjacks Football Series 2

(coming in Fall/Winter 2012)

Tyler Harris has it all, but he's not sure he wants it anymore.

With two Championship rings, superstar quarterback Tyler Harris is at the top of his game with nowhere to go but down. He's the best quarterback in the league, not to mention gorgeous, rich, and a self-proclaimed asshole. So why does he feel so detached and apathetic? When a great uncle wills a priceless waterfront estate to Tyler under the stipulation he remain in residence for ninety days, Tyler jumps at the chance to escape from his chaotic, pressure-cooker life. Hiding out in the run-down mansion with no TV, no Internet, and no cell phone service challenges him to explore other methods of entertainment such as the fiery-haired vixen living next door. The only time Tyler feels alive is when he’s matching wits and trading barbs with the sassy redhead or seducing her in his bed, in his truck, on a picnic table, in a float plane, and anywhere else he can get her naked.

Lavender Mead has good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted his family to coach college football and her unfortunate penchant for bad boys who play ball for a living and break hearts for a hobby. She vows to steer clear of Tyler’s dangerous charm, but sparing with the arrogant athlete ignites their mutual attraction into hot passion. When they discover just how much they have in common, the truth threatens to rip them apart.

While It Lasts (Sea Breeze #3) by Abbi Glines

Genre: Contemporary, MATURE Young Adult Romance
Heat Barometer: 4 out of 5 flames
Written from alternating POV’s of Cage & Eva
LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT! This is what I want when I read a YA romance, the raw lust, the passion, the freshness of young love, the way you feel when the H&h can hardly function because of the intense obsession for each other. Boy, does it bring back memories and that is what I am looking for when I pick up a YA. I rarely give YA books 5 stars because I am usually left wanting more. I didn’t happen here. I devoured this book in a half a day, crossing my fingers that it would keep delivering and it did to the very end with a heartfelt, chest tightening epilogue.

While it Last grabbed me from the first page. I had tears glistening in my eyes and I didn’t even know the characters yet. It starts off a year and a half after Eva’s fiancée, Josh, a soldier, is killed in Iraq. Her dreams are crushed, she doesn’t have the will to move forward. Josh was her everything, her security, the boy next door, her first kiss, her one and only. All Eva ever saw was her future with Josh; they were going to grow old together, continue their beautiful love story and watch their grandchildren grow. It was so sad, my heart just broke for her.

Cage was introduced in Because of Low, book 2. I did not read the previous 2 books in this series because from the reviews they weren’t as highly rated and after coming away somewhat disappointed from Abbi Glines, The Vincent Boys series, I wasn’t sure I wanted to waste my time. I might now go back and read them, but I wasn’t lost in starting at Book 3, WiL.

Cage is sent for the summer to work for Eva’s dad on their ranch as punishment from his junior college baseball coach because he received a DUI. I didn’t think the whole DUI and baseball future was taken very seriously, sort of just glance over, even though it was the whole reason they were thrown together. Cage still would drink a beer and drive a car, it made me nervous, it wasn’t smart.

Eva read Cage immediately; a bad boy, a girl user, a heart breaker and total trouble, but he did make her broken heart beat faster. Cage was a complete flirt and he checked out anything with boobs, but the love bug knock Cage off his feet and he was completely blindsided by his developing feelings for Eva. I loved how different he was with her. He was protective and possessive, their chemistry was scorching, and he had a wicked dirty mouth when he was in the moment with Eva… he had me completely hot and bothered. Where Josh and Eva’s love was from a comfortable history, Cage and Eva’s was all consuming, “surrendering of your heart” love. The author handled the distinction very tastefully because I felt deeply for both Josh and Cage.

I highly recommend this story to even those who are skeptical about Young Adult romance books like me. It didn’t feel YA; it had steam, angst (but not over the top), jealousy- because of lots of “other women” situations, cheating, awesome characters and a very good story.
