What if everything you think you want isn’t what you actually need…

Dr. Shelly Monroe is a woman who doesn’t shy away from going after what she wants, but lately good sex has been hard to find. Shelly’s become increasingly frustrated with the men she’s been dating and the men she believes are the right choice.

Joshua Daniels is certainly not even close to the right choice. In fact he is exactly the wrong choice. For one thing, he’s Mason Langley’s best friend and best man. Second he’s too much of a risky complication for Shelly to even consider.
Then why can’t she stop thinking about how delicious he looked that first night she met him at Exquisite? Why is it so imperative to keep her lusty desire for a man that doesn’t meet her preconceived mold hidden from Lena and Mason, her trusted friends? It seems unreasonable that being with a man completely wrong in theory could somehow feel so right.

Then why is it the more she sees him the more enticing he becomes?

You can read Splage's review of Entice here, and Karla's here!

Was the entire Exquisite series laid out in your mind beforehand or does the storyline come to you from one book to the next? If you could or would change anything, what would that be?
Yes and no. The characters of the Exquisite Series were firm in my mind, their stories however, evolve as I write. Honestly, I always knew that Lena and Rachel would be the darker, more intense stories and Shelly was supposed to be the ray of light in the middle. That changed somewhere along the way though, Shelly morphed for me and her perfect love story wasn’t so easy after all.

Readers seem to have an intense reaction to what happens toward the end of Entice I have noticed, which I didn’t expect. The funny thing is I got to know my husband very well through spending months apart, so it was never an odd situation for me as a writer, but I wouldn’t change that. To me it was just the way Shelly’s story evolved and I am happy with how it turned out.

Why Chicago, what was the appeal of that city as the setting for the Exquisite series?
I have always wanted to visit Chicago, I love cities. Even when I was living in Australia I was fascinated with it. I was in a musical way back in the day that was set in Chicago and ever since I have just found it appealing and on my top ten places to visit.

Your characters go on a journey of hardship and seeing past their own insecurities to find love, nothing is simple. It makes for some emotional reading and drains you a reader; does it take a similar toll on you?
Again, my answer would be yes and no. When I’m writing, the words seem to just come out the way I want them to, it’s during the re read and critique of it that it is draining. A good portion of Entice I wanted to throw my computer across the room and then my feelings would switch and I’d feel terrible for the stubborn woman I had put on the page.

I think life is full of struggles, it isn’t easy and honestly Rachel’s story is going to be one of the hardest for me to write because the subject is very personal and close to home.

Okay Ella, we have to ask, you write some of the most sensual powerful sex scenes, and quite imaginative too, does experience play into the picture? You can tell us, we won’t tell anyone.
Ha. I’d love to say I go on a full month’s research journey with my husband, but in actuality it really just comes from my brain and a healthy, happy marriage. I also like looking around my house and thinking, what if.

We loved the trailer for Entice!  Do you use music to inspire your writing?
Thank you for that. I was surprised how people took to the trailer. It came from an unhealthy addiction I have to iMovie.
I do use music to inspire me; I have a play list for every book I write. Music is so important, in my opinion. It can lift your mood, inspire you, and sometimes it can make you cry uncontrollably. I don’t know about you but when I was a younger and had my heart broken I would turn on the saddest song I could find and sing horribly through sobbing and sniffling.

Who has been your favorite character to write about?
That’s hard. I have two. One is Gemma Harris, she is in the upcoming erotica Blind Obsession. The second I have just touched on, but have not yet completed his story. He’s bossy, honest to a fault and he has been talking to me since the first book, Exquisite, back in June 2012 when I first started.

While you were writing Entice you were also working on Blind Obsession, how do you manage to keep the storylines and characters straight?
I had actually finished Entice and it was in critiques when I started writing Blind Obsession. I was originally going to write Edible directly after Entice, that however was not the case. I wrote the first chapter of Blind Obsession and after that I couldn’t stop. It was like a compulsion to get it out of me before I moved on to Rachel’s story.

Have you ever considered writing other sub-genres of romance, like a paranormal series, military suspense, romantic thriller, or maybe even young adult?
Not really. I started a sci-fi romance, let’s just say no one will be reading that anytime soon, ha. I think contemporary romance/erotica is my field and I don’t really see myself leaving it anytime soon. I do however, love to read PNR.

What do you like to read in your spare time? Any books you’d like to recommend to us?
I love romance, obviously and I am addicted to BDB by JR Ward and I am anxiously awaiting March for the next installment in that series. If you haven’t read the Nalini Singh, Psy/Shifters series I highly recommend those. They are an amazing PNR series that I am in love with.
I’m a huge fan of books that have family, friends and character connections. Jill Shalvis has a really great pilot series, Smart and Sexy, Strong and Sexy, Superb and Sexy not to mention her Instant Attraction Series..okay honestly I could go on all day, but that’s a few.
